Kevin Feige Hints We Won't See Much 'Avengers: Endgame' Footage Until the Film Premieres

After the heartbreak that was Avengers: Infinity War, the only hope Marvel fans had was that the Avengers series would still continue with a fourth film. Although we still aren’t sure how our favorite superheroes will be brought to life following The Decimation, we know we’ll have to see them again in the next movie. But when the Avengers: Endgame trailer finally came out last month, we still were left a bit upset.
The first trailer, released on Dec. 7, first shows Tony Stark/Iron Man alone, reflecting on all the damage Thanos did all the friends he lost. We then see Steve Rogers/Captain America, Bruce Banner/The Hulk, and Natalia Romanova/Black Widow, similarly defeated after the events of the last film. Hawkeye and Thor are also briefly shown. The tone is expectedly bleak.
The only redeeming part of the trailer is seeing Scott Lang/Ant-Man come to the front door at the end. The heroes ask if it was an old message they were seeing on their monitor, to which Black Widow confirms it's happening right now, in turn all but confirming Ant-Man will be using the Quantum Realm to time travel.
The brief glimmer of hope at the end of trailer got fans excited for more, but it appears we might not get anything else before the film premieres. Of course, we should expect a second trailer, but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige just hinted the footage for the rest of the film’s marketing won’t be too extensive.
While talking to MTV on the Golden Globes red carpet last night, Feige was asked about the rumor which claims the Endgame marketing campaign will only use about the first 15 to 20 minutes of the film. Of course, he didn’t give a concrete answer, but he did say the idea is “somewhat accurate.” Although this isn’t a confirmation, it gives us reason to believe we probably won’t see too much of the film before its release, which isn’t surprising.

Given we will most likely see the Marvel superheroes be brought back to life in some way, which is only up for speculation as of now, there’s no way they’d spoil it for fans in the trailer. Of course we’re upset we won’t see a happy ending until (hopefully) April, but the wait will be worth it if we get at least most of our favorite characters back.
Avengers: Endgame premieres on April 26, 2019.
