Tragedy struck the world over the weekend when retired NBA superstar Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna "Gigi" Bryant, and seven other passengers aboard a helicopter died in a disastrous accident in Calabasas, California early Sunday morning.

And while the community is grief-stricken to say the least, Kanye West used his Sunday Service gathering as a place to pay homage to his lost friend, and to celebrate his amazing life through music. Pitchfork reports that Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian, posted videos which can be seen below from the most recent service to her Instagram Story, showing the Grammy-winning musician, along with his friends Chance the Rapper and Kirk Franklin, leading the choir and crowd in song.

During his portion of the evening, Kanye paid tribute to the four-time all-star MVP, rapping, “I was driving home/They was leaving your jersey on the freeway, and I just broke down, broke down, broke down.” Chance the Rapper used his time to perform his verse from Kanye’s song “Ultralight Beam.”

Kim watched and recorded from the crowd solemnly, captioning Kirk's segment of the video, “Midnight Sunday Service/ I needed to hear this @kirkfranklin.” Earlier in the day, the KKW Beauty founder and a few other members of the Kardashian-Jenner family posted their deep condolences to their Instagram accounts, sending a tremendous amount of love to Gigi's mother and Kobe’s wife for nearly 20 years, Vanessa.

If the service was half as moving as the videos Kim posted, I’m sure the community found momentary relief from this heartbreaking event.
