Justin Bieber Responds to Backlash Following Pregnancy April Fools' Prank With Lengthy Message
By Hannah Wigandt

There was a lot of fishy stuff on the internet yesterday that turned out to be just a joke for April Fools' Day, but one prank made by Justin Bieber is getting some serious backlash for being insensitive.
Bieber and wife Hailey Baldwin have been the "it" couple for a while now, so of course fans would freak out if the pair were expecting their first child. So Bieber likely thought it was a super funny move to post a sonogram photo on his Instagram in honor of the holiday.
Hailey was quick to comment on the post, "Very funny...", making fans believe it was false, but then Bieber posted another couple of photos that showed Hailey with doctors tending to her stomach. “If U thought it was April fools,” Bieber captioned the second post. But in the end, the singer finally admitted it was just a joke, posting another photo of a dog in the center of a sonogram.
The posts, as funny as many found them, were also very hurtful to women who have trouble conceiving. To joke about being pregnant is an insult to those women, according to the many who took to social media to complain about the prank.
of course justin bieber will think a pregnancy announcement would be funny on April fools. esp so when 1 in 7 women have had a miscarriage. not to mention those suffering from infertility ?

@justinbieber I hope that “pregnancy “ announcement was real. Pregnancy pranks are not cool. There are people who can’t have babies or have lost. ???♀️

Justin Bieber faked a pregnancy announcement... Why?! That is so inconsiderate. People struggle with loss and infertility every single day. Pregnancy announcements are not a joke. Give your damn head a shake... ??♀️

Bieber has since posted a picture on Instagram of a screenshot of an article talking about the backlash and has commented that he's sorry for offending anyone, but that wasn't how he meant it.
"I truly don’t want anyone to be hurt by a prank," the singer wrote, adding, "it’s like when I shoved cake in my little sisters face for her birthday expecting her to laugh but she cried." Although people were offended, we know Justin didn't have any ill intent here.
