Jordan Peele Puts Together His Avengers Team of Horror Villains
By Hannah Wigandt

Jordan Peele has stepped outside of the comedy spectrum and into the horror world, as he helmed Get Out (2017), the upcoming film Us, debuting on March 22, and even with the reboot of The Twilight Zone, premiering on April 1. He has his own vision of what he thinks horror should be, and as his surreal horror movies come out, Peele has shared why he loves the genre so much.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Peele revealed his favorite things about the genre, including his first encounter with it, and even went as far as explaining who would be on his team of Avengers villains.
His list of power house villains who he thinks would make up an incredible Avengers team includes Freddy Krueger, Candyman, and Chucky, as well as one of the silver balls from Phantasm. He added that all of them would ride Graboid from Tremors.
Peele confessed that, even though he was way too young to see it, the movie The Fly really scared him. He also went on to make an interesting point about Michael Myers, saying that he was more curious than evil. But neither one made it to his Avengers list.
Peele doesn't go for typical haunted house horror movies, as instead he likes to see horror happen in unexpected places, like done in films The Shining. In fact, in the interview, Peele also awarded Best Horror Performance to Shelley Duvall for her portrayal in the Stephen King adaptation.
