With A Quiet Place Part II premiering on March 20, John Krasinski has kept busy making his rounds with public appearances and interviews. And while the four-time Emmy nominee is eager to talk about his upcoming horror movie, no one can resist looking back at where his career all began—with The Office.

Although Krasinski is now one of Hollywood's ultimate hunks and favorite actors, he wasn't always a superstar. Before the fame, he was just an unknown Boston native who got cast to play a paper salesman named Jim Halpert. While speaking on CinemaBlend's podcast ReelBlend, he was asked about his experience as the Dunder Mifflin employee and if he was okay with certain groups of fans only ever remembering him as the character from The Office. He answered:

"Here's the truth. I was a waiter when I got The Office. The Office is unequivocally the thing that gave me every single opportunity. I would not be sitting here with you. I would not be talking about a show. It has given me absolutely everything. And because of the success of that show, I was allowed to be brave enough to take shots at trying to write and direct and all these things, because not only was I financially solvent enough to try that and risk failure, but also because I had the confidence enough and basically went to film school."

The dad-of-two also shared that the closeness of The Office cast and crew allowed a close-knit community to grow, which gave him the opportunity to learn the behind-the-scenes making of compelling narratives.

Now, thanks in part to The Office, we can all go see his film A Quiet Place Part II, which will hit theaters on March 20. In the meantime, check out these awesome gifts for your Dunder Mifflin obsessed friends!
