Joe Dempsie Hints Gendry and Arya Will Reunite in 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Premiere
By Hannah Wigandt

There are a ton of things fans are expecting to see in the final season of Game of Thrones, and it's not just battles against the White Walkers or for the Iron Throne. Fans are also eager to see highly-anticipated reunions between some of their favorite characters. And one much-need meeting might've just been confirmed by actor Joe Dempsie.
Dempsie, the star behind Gendry, just hinted that his character and his old friend Arya Stark might get together again in the very first episode of Season 8. The reunion between the two fan-favorite characters is long overdue, and is right behind Arya's reunion with Jon Snow as the most wanted for fans.
While talking to BuzzFeed News, Dempsie seemingly almost let it slip that we'll see the reunion in the season premiere.

"I don't know if I can really say. I know a lot of people want Gendry and Arya to be reunited," Dempsie stated when asked if it's a possibility. "Is this going to go out after Episode 1?" Host Isaac Fitzgerald told him it wouldn't, to which the actor suspiciously replied, "In that case you'll have to wait and see."
Dempsie went on to explain how after years of not being on the show, he feared he wouldn't return at all. "I think when you're lost at sea for three years, you're amazed to make it back anywhere," he joked.
"I would've completely understood if after a couple of years waiting, [showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss] called me up and said, 'Look man we're really sorry, we don't have time,' or not called me up or recast me with someone else," Dempsie stated. "I was prepared for that eventuality. And weirdly — I feel like this happens a lot in life — It was when I stopped thinking about it, the phone call came."
And Gendry will no doubt be welcomed back with open arms by fans of the series—not just for a reunion with Arya. Many are theorizing we'll see the character in a larger role now that he's back in time for the final season. Everything will start to unfold when Game of Thrones returns this Sunday.
