Wednesday star Jenna Ortega has revealed she did not seek advice from co-star Christina Ricci on how to play the iconic character for one particular reason, here's what the young up-and-coming actress is saying on her decision.

The 20-year-old actress, who stars as the title character in the Netflix hit series, said she purposely did not speak about her portrayal to Ricci, 42, who famously played the character in the 1991 comedy The Addams Family and again in 1993's Addams Family Values.

"Our show has superpowers and outcasts and evil ghost pilgrims," Jenna said in an MTV News interview with co-star Emma Myers, who plays her roommate, Enid.

"I think when [Christina] was on set, neither one of us said 'Wednesday' once to each other," the Scream actress explained.

"I don't think she wanted to get in the way of my performance and feel like she was overbearing," adding, "They're two very different people, our Wednesdays."
