Jenelle Evans' Rep Defends David Eason's Choice to Bring Gun to Court Hearing for Child Custody
While we're not sure what's truly going on in the courtroom for ex Teen Mom 2 stars Jenelle Evans and David Eason, recent events surely haven't made the pair look good.
The controversial couple is currently fighting for custody of their children, after they were removed from "The Land," a.k.a. their home, by Child Protective Services (CPS). Their investigation began after David shot and killed Jenelle's small dog, a tragedy which also saw Jenelle being fired from the MTV series.
As the two were, of course, recorded and photographed while in the courthouse parking lot, TMZ reported that there seemed to have been a gun clear as day on the dashboard of their car. Now, according to US Weekly, apparently Jenelle's rep has confirmed the weapon was present--and is defending it being there.
"In the state of North Carolina, if you aren’t a felon you can have a gun with no permit," Jenelle's rep told the publication in a statement. "The gun has to be in ‘plain sight’ if you do not have a concealed carry permit. This is so when the cops pull you over or you’re out in public you cannot even have your shirt over the holster or you will be charged with a felony." But this doesn't exactly explain why David would need to bring it while fighting to get his kids back.
We'll be eagerly waiting to hear more from Jenelle and David's court hearing.
