Jason Momoa Reveals the Unexpected Reason Wife Lisa Bonet Would Leave Him

Any Jason Momoa fan who has ever been nervous that the 39-year-old actor would cut off his gorgeous curly locks can rest easy. The star has just revealed the seemingly one reason he won't be sporting short hair anytime soon.

"I am not cutting my hair for a while, I will tell you that much,” Momoa told the Daily Telegraph.

Momoa shared that his wife, actress Lisa Bonet, loves his long hair too much for him to chop it all off. "My wife would leave me if I cut my hair, so I just don't cut my hair," the actor joked.

But Momoa also admitted that the character of his new movie, the first stand-alone Aquaman film, is also a big incentive to keep his flow.

"I am going to be playing this guy for a while and I don't want to wear a wig," Momoa explained. "I think we are good for the next two years." Although an Aquaman sequel has not been confirmed, the actor has been very vocal about his plans for a second film.

Momoa and his wife only recently tied the knot after being together for more than 10 years. The couple, who have two kids together, were married at their house in Topanga, California in 2017.

Shortly after the big day, Momoa told E! News that things actually felt a bit different now that him and Bonet are married.

"I never thought it would," Momoa said. "But I mean, we have a 10.5-year-old, a nine-year-old. I plan on being with her the rest of my life. There's just that moment where it's [time to take it] to the next level. I'll be here her whole life."

Aquaman hits theaters this week.
