Jared Leto Says He Would 'Definitely' Play the Joker Again

Like Batman, the infamous DC character the Joker has been recast many times and has evolved throughout the years. From Jack Nicholson to Heath Ledger, some of the most famous actors have brought their own take on the villain, including Jared Leto.

Leto's Joker in 2016's Suicide Squad was punked out with grills and tattoos--making him probably one of the most craziest portrayals yet. But since James Gunn announced he would be rebooting the villain team with The Suicide Squad, fans are fearing we may never see Leto's interpretation again. Leto, on the other hand, is definitely open to playing the part again.

“I would definitely play the Joker again,” Leto told Variety. “It all depends on the script and the circumstances as it always does.”

There's been no word on if the Joker will even be part of Gunn's The Suicide Squad, but actor Jai Courtney and Viola Davis have been reported to be reprising their roles, along with the rumor Margot Robbie might return as Harley Quinn.

Joaquin Phoenix will be next to play the infamous role in Joker, set to premiere in October.
