James Wan Reacts to Talks of Possible 'Aquaman' Cinematic Universe
By Hannah Wigandt

Aquaman has been the most successful DCEU films to date, so of course fans are already anticipating sequels, and even a whole different cinematic universe, to explore more of the underwater world.
Director James Wan has now spoken out about the possible universe, following reports of not only a sequel but also a spinoff called The Trench.
Wan explained via Twitter that even though he directed the hit film, that doesn't really mean he's signed off on other Aquaman movies. But he does think they are coming.
Thank You. What I do in my little corner doesn’t affect other projects from getting made.

Aquaman was always about building a bigger, unique world within itself. There are many adventures within the Seven Seas.
(Now, I’m not saying that this is actually happening) https://t.co/HIypZQq4oa
Even though Wan isn't confirming anything, it's safe to say that fans will be revisiting the King of the Seven Seas' world in no time.
"I mean, liking the people I work with goes a long way," Wan told ComicBook.com late last year about the possibility of doing a sequel. "That was the reason why I came back when I did Insidious 2. But it's a weird one for me, because I actually don't know what I want to do next for the first time in my career. I felt like Aquaman ticked a lot of boxes for me. I want to do another action movie after Furious 7, I wanted to do a world creation film, and I wanted to do a superhero movie, and Aquaman literally ticked all of those boxes for me."
In the meantime, you can go see Aquaman. Right now.
