There's been rivalry, of course, between DC and Marvel throughout the years. But despite their differences they do bring us some of the most action-packed movies ever, and do share many elements, including directors, writers, and even actors. Now, James McAvoy, Professor X in Marvel's X-Men, says that if he went over to DC, he'd want to play the Riddler.

McAvoy revealed his interest in the villain during an Instagram Live session after a fan asked him, "If you joined the DC Universe, who would you like to play?" The actor took time to ponder the question while putting what appeared to be X-Men toys in a box.

After a little bit of thinking, McAvoy replied, "The Riddler, maybe. Always liked him when I was growing up. I’ve always thought DC does really good bad guys."

Could you imagine McAvoy as the Riddler? It wouldn't be the first time he's played a manic villain. In Split, McAvoy plays a man who has 23 different personalities, who kidnaps and imprisons three girls in an underground facility. We could definitely see him playing a superhero bad guy.

But in the meantime, you can see McAvoy in Dark Phoenix this June.
