House of Undying Vision Might Lead to Daenerys Becoming Night Queen in 'Game of Thrones' Season 8

It’s hard to believe the final season of Game of Thrones is premiering in almost a week’s time, and fans are expectedly going wild with anticipation as we continue to rewatch previous seasons and speculate what’ll go down. Fan theories are certainly at an all time high, and honestly, some of them are super convincing. Even if they’re a bit crazy.

Case in point: one Redditor has looked back at a scene from season two and thinks it could mean something shocking for Daenerys Targaryen. And it adds up.

User marisaann26 rewatched the episode “Valar Morghulis” where Dany must visit the House of the Undying in Qarth after her dragons are stolen. There, she sees visions of Khal Drogo and their child, along with hints at her future as she sees the Iron Throne. The theorist points out how parts of her vision have come true since the episode, such as her being restricted by the Wall and her dragons crying. They explain:

“S2 vision: Dany going towards the throne, but is drawn beyond the wall = when, in S7, Dany was going to go attack King[']s Landing and take the throne by force, but she was told Jon and company beyond The Wall need rescuing- goes beyond the wall.

S2 vision: Dany hearing the dragon cries = S7 the dragons crying beyond the wall after Viserion was killed by the NK.”

Now, the last part is what the fan thinks will come true in the final season. When Dany decides to leave Drogo and their baby to instead be with her dragons in the vision, the Warlock tells her, “You’ll be with your dragons through winter, summer, and winter again.” This might mean in season eight, Daenerys will decide to leave Jon Snow (and possibly their child, if she turns out to be pregnant) in order to be with her creatures.

And the reason the Redditor thinks Dany will have to leave them actually makes sense. Based on interviews with Daenerys actress Emilia Clarke and with Vladimir Furdik, who plays the Night King, the Mother of Dragons might become the Night Queen.

Furdik revealed to Entertainment Weekly last month that his character has one specific person he’s after in season eight, sharing, “People will see [the Night King] has a target he wants to kill, and you will find out who that is." While this obviously doesn’t mean he’s talking about Daenerys, something Clarke told Vanity Fair makes it seem very possible. It f**ked me up,” she said of the final season. “Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavor in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is...” This quote alone makes it seem like at the very least Dany will be doing something less than honorable.

So could Daenerys give into the Night King and become his queen for the sake of her dragons? The Redditor argues:

“I believe that the Night King is after Dany to be either his new queen or to take over as queen (him wanting peace=death). One way or another, both living dragons will die in battle. Distraught by losing her dragons, Dany with be persuaded to join the Night King to be reunited with her dragons = she gets her ICE THRONE.”

This would definitely be an incredible twist, whether fans would love it or hate it. But as multiple cast members have admitted the finale won’t make everyone happy, we’re not counting it out. We all want to see Daenerys succeed, but at what cost? We’ll start to find out when Thrones finally returns for its final season on April 14.
