HBO Reportedly Planning Blood Drive to Promote 'Game of Thrones' Season 8
By Hannah Wigandt

When you see ads for a hit TV show, do you ever think it's also to promote a blood drive? That's the last thing we'd probably ever think. But executives for Game of Thrones have done just that; they are reportedly getting super creative and are promoting the new season by conducting blood drives.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the blood drive campaign is just one of the many attempts by HBO to hype up the new season of Thrones. It's believed to be part of a $20 million marketing campaign.

Along with the blood drive, which has the appropriate tagline, "Would you bleed for the throne?," HBO is planning on hiding iron thrones around the world for a huge Game of Thrones scavenger hunt. The campaign all started with the Thrones/Bud Light commercial that premiered during the Super Bowl.
HBO says the goal of the campaign is not only to bring attention to the upcoming season and expand the fanbase, but to also draw focus to other HBO shows as well.
Not that Game of Thrones really needs the publicity, because it is already the most talked about show of the moment. But the question now is... Would you bleed for the throne?
