HBO Isn't Sure They'll Do More Than One 'Game of Thrones' Prequel Series
By Hannah Wigandt

With the ending of one of HBO's most successful shows soon coming at us in full force, the entertainment channel is thinking of the Game of Thrones spinoffs and beyond. They have a hit show on their hands, so thinking about the future of the network and how they are going to top the success of the show is at the forefront of their minds' right now.
Obviously to totally kill off Game of Thrones from the channel would be a huge mistake, and HBO has already commissioned not just one, but five spinoff series. Only one has made it to the pilot phase, however, but fans are eagerly waiting for any others to be greenlit.
"We want to get that one started," Casey Bloys, HBO's programing president, told IndieWire on the upcoming prequel series. He went on to give a disappointing update, stating, "You know, I’m not sure that we’ll do another one."
Bloys also confirmed the other four prequel projects have been put aside because HBO has their priorities in the pilot in the works currently.
Casey Bloys has said that the ‘GAME OF THRONES’ prequel may be the only spin-off series. Bloys adds that he does not want to overpopulate HBO and will only proceed with another spinoff if “it is really well done, interesting and exciting”. “But I’m not looking to make HBO just the home of Game of Thrones prequels, or sequels, or anything like that,” Bloys continued. “I think it’s a very exciting and rich world that we’re lucky enough to have, but I’m not looking to overdo it. I’m not looking to overpopulate. Only if it is really well done and interesting and exciting."
Game of Thrones returns for its last season on April 14.
