Donald Trump used the Game of Thrones logo for his post about the Robert Mueller reports, and HBO is not amused. They have released a statement saying, while they think it's great that everyone has been excited about the season premiere, they don't want their show associated in politics.
“Though we can understand the enthusiasm for Game of Thrones now that the final season has arrived, we still prefer our intellectual property not be used for political purposes,” HBO said in a statement.
Trump's post used the Game of Thrones font and pictured him with his back turned in smoke, and the words, “No collusion. No obstruction. For the haters and the radical left Democrats — Game Over.” The president posted it after attorney general William Barr gave a press conference saying Mueller found no evidence of collusion.
This is not the first time Trump has used Game of Thrones fonts and tag lines from the show in his Twitter posts. In November he posted a picture of himself that said, "Sanctions are Coming", playing on Thrones' motto "Winter is Coming".
“We were not aware of this messaging and would prefer our trademark not be misappropriated for political purposes,” HBO said in their statement last year.
