Syfy is cutting the cord on the psychological triller Nightflyers after only ten episodes. The show is based off a novella written by A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin.

Nightflyers is set in 2093, where a group of scientists are trying to find and befriend aliens. Like most alien thrillers, things don't always go as planned when the crew on board start to turn on each other and find out they are not alone.

When Syfy confirmed the show would no longer air, they revealed that the reason for the cancellation was due to simply low ratings, according to Screen Rant.

Nightflyers did show promise, being written and produced by Jeff Buhler, Gene Klein and Brian Nelson, but the series unfortunately went nowhere with ratings in the end.

Actors of the show have already been cast in other projects as well. Main character, David Adjala, landed a role in CBS' Under the Bridge.
