Disney+ will be home to a variety of classic films and brand new series when it launches in November. The streaming service will give franchises under Disney an opportunity to release a ton of new content on the platform.

One idea being thrown around within the media conglomerate is giving a George Lucas film a spinoff, and it's not one of his Star Wars installments. The 1988 cult classic film, Willow, written by Lucas and directed by Ron Howard, was never given any type of sequel, but that may change now over 30 years later.

During the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Howard confirmed that fellow Solo: A Star Wars Story  writer Jon Kasdan is pondering bringing Willow back as a TV show on Disney+.

“There are some really serious discussions going on with Jon Kasdan... who kept hounding me about Willow the whole time we were shooting and also hounding Kathy Kennedy," Howard began. "We’re in discussions about developing a Willow television show for the Disney+. And I think it’d be a great way to go. In fact, George always talked about the possibility of a Willow series, and it’d be great and more intimate, and built around that character and some of the others. And Jon Kasdan has, I think, an inspired take on it and it could be really, really cool.”

Willow follows its titular character, a farmer with hopes of being a sorcerer, who plays a critical role in a massive battle after being tasked with protecting a baby.
