With HBO's smash hit coming to a close earlier this year, it only makes sense they'd be taking home the biggest award at the 2019 Emmys tonight.

After breaking records with their 32 nominations this year, Game of Thrones was honored with the biggest award of the night, when it was announced they had won Outstanding Drama Series. Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss paid tribute to everyone who had worked on the series in their acceptance speech, along with A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin.

Also in attendance to accept the award on stage was Martin, along with the show's stars, such as Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, Peter Dinklage, and a handful more.

Earlier in the night, Dinklage took home the award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Tyrion Lannister in Thrones, setting an Emmy record.

While the final season was met with backlash from fans, no one can deny how impactful Game of Thrones has been on television.
