'Game of Thrones' Theory Predicts a Major Betrayal in Daenerys' Future

Fan theories are really starting to mess with our minds, as it seems to be all anyone can read and think of in the time leading up to the Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere. Many of these ideas seem to be bizarre and unrealistic in some way or another, but this new one might not be.

The new fan theory, of course, comes from Reddit. According to Inverse, user Bcallies402 (who has since deleted his post) says that as the final season progresses, we should have our eyes closely watching Tyrion Lannister. Fans are sure Tyrion would never go back to the evil clutches of his sister Cersei Lannister, but that doesn't necessarily mean he will stay loyal to Daenerys Targaryen forever.

The Redditor says that in Tyrion’s latest moments in Season 7, it looks like he might not always be acting in Daenerys’ best interests, even if he doesn’t consciously know it yet. For instance, Tyrion has given the Mother of Dragons some pretty bad advice about war tactics, like warning her against attacking King’s Landing, and having her send the Unsullied to Casterly Rock.

Daenerys was even warned by Olenna Tyrell to stay away from him. Who knows what was said between brother and sister when Cersei told him she was pregnant; maybe she fed him false information? “This will set him up to think he is giving Dany accurate information, and then Cersei will betray his trust,” the theorist writes. “This will set him up to LOOK like a traitor to Daenerys and cause some problems.”

We will have to wait to know for sure what Tyrion’s true intentions are until Thrones returns on April 14, but this is definitely worth thinking about.
