'Game of Thrones' Teaser Might Include Clue About Jon Snow's Fate in Final Season
By Natalie Zamora

The latest Game of Thrones teaser has been out for three days now, and it’s still anyone can talk about. Considering we haven’t gotten new footage lasting over a few seconds from the series in nearly a year and a half, fans are understandably thrilled about this. The 90-second teaser features Sansa Stark, Arya Stark, and Jon Snow, most prominently, and although many are wondering why Bran Stark was left out, one detail about one character we do see is very telling.
Fans were quick to notice when Sansa, Arya, and Jon approach the statues that appear to be designed for them in the Crypts of Winterfell, Jon’s looks particularly different. While his siblings’ mimic what they currently look like, Jon’s looks much more mature, as if he’s an older man. Of course, this small observation could mean many things, and fans are now speculating like crazy.
The most obvious theory is that this means Jon will survive Season 8 and will live for many more years to come, while his sisters will die sooner than later. Reddit user marktwen predicted in a GoT discussion:
“Bran showed future. So they seen their own tombs. Statues are equal to age they died. When Sansa and Arya age is +- same, Jon is much older(I'd say 45-55 years old). So looks like thats [sic] kinda spoiler, that Sansa and Arya will die and Jon will survive.”

But would Game of Thrones really just drop a spoiler like this that obviously? Others think not.
“I think people read into things to much... I think them finding the statues in the crypt just symbolizes the fact that all three are going to be facing death next season. Jon's statue just looks ‘older’ because of his usual broody expression,” user AprilUofA wrote, while some don’t even think Jon’s statue is supposed to look older. “It is notoriously hard to depict hair in sculptures. This is why ancient statues often had stylized hair or beards, and even when the hair is sculpted correctly, it tends to obscure the age or likeness the artist intended,” user Fried_Cthulhumari weighed in.
Whatever the case is, we’ll (hopefully) find out in the final season. Game of Thrones returns for the last time on April 14.
