'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Trailer Theory Asks Who's Chasing Arya
By Hannah Wigandt

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard the first full-length trailer for the final season of Game of Thrones finally dropped yesterday. One of the first scenes audiences saw in the nearly two-minute video was Arya Stark running frantically through some dark hall with blood dripping down her face. It looked like she was being chased, and the whole world is now left wondering by what.
Among the many telling scenes in the trailer, this one has got fans scratching their heads perhaps the most. The scene is of, course, only about two seconds, so it’s difficult to really make out anything other than her panic-stricken face and all the blood. But fans have now taken the footage and slowed it down, as well as lightened the color, to see if it could help identify any more clues. What fans on Reddit discovered is not just one, but two silhouettes behind Arya chasing her.
There’s been lengthy discussions already online about who these two shadows could be, but estimating from the size and hair length of the one on the right, you can see it kind of looks like Jaime Lannister. Why would Jaime be chasing her, though? That’s for us to theorize further, we guess.
This brightened picture from the #GameofThrones S8 trailer reveals two men, possibly more, chasing down Arya. Are they chasing her or also running away from something else??

Other fans are discrediting this idea, however, and have come to the conclusion that whoever is chasing her is actually a White Walker. But not just any White Walker, as it could be the re-animated Ned Stark. “I really like the idea of all the Stark kids having to face off against zombie ned, especially,” Redditor grednforgesgirl wrote. “Lyanna will also probably be ressurrected [sic], that'll be absolutely heartbreaking for Jon, especially if he just found out about his true parentage.” If Thrones welcomed back Sean Bean for this epic last season it would be the best kept secret on the planet.
Other ideas include one of the figures being a resurrected Catelyn Stark, or even Littlefinger, who many have been theorizing did not actually die in Season 7. “I'd love the idea that it's ned or Catelyn, but it really does look like littlefinger. I'd recognize that sneaky outline anywhere,” grednforgesgirl added.
So far, we can probably assume that Arya is running away from one or two figures, and that this threat is more severe than anything she’s ever faced before. What or who that exactly is will just have to be speculated further until the final season premieres. April 14 can’t come soon enough.
