'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Release Date Announced With New Teaser

As Game of Thrones has not premiered new episodes in over a year (the longest we've been without the critically acclaimed series) fans are expectedly getting impatient. Given this is the final season, there's about a million questions we all need answered, and we're ready to see how it all plays out in the finale. HBO announced a few months back that April will be the month Thrones returns, and now we've finally gotten an exact date.

After teasing on Friday that fans would find out the release date ahead of the premiere of True Detective's Season 3, the network has kept their word. Game of Thrones' final season will debut on April 14, 2019. The countdown is officially on! Check out the awesome new teaser below.

Although we're all excited for GoT to return, we also have to prepare for the heartbreak that will occur after the finale. According to Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne of Tarth, fans are going to need therapy when it's all over. This claim only echoes previous statements about the final season, with many of the show's actors expressing how emotional it will be.

We now have about three months to get prepared.
