People had a lot to say (and a lot of shade) about Game of Thrones this year. So much so, in fact, that two GoT-themed subreddits landed at the top of Reddit’s TV communities for 2019.

The Wrap reports that the winner of the number one spot was the “Freefolk” subreddit, which, funnily enough, openly criticizes the HBO series’ creators Dan Weiss and David Benioff, makes fun of holes in character development and plot, as well as discusses leaks in depth. The winner of the silver was the more straightforward subreddit, simply titled “Game of Thrones,” which often praises the show and is more spoiler-free.

Though the “Freefolk” community is known for their snarky disapproval, they also gained public recognition this year for raising more than $130,000 for Emilia Clarke’s SameYou charity. The Daenerys Targaryen actor started the charity after surviving two brain aneurysms, which occurred shortly after she began playing the GoT role.

Some other communities that made Reddit’s Top 10 TV-focused pages were, in order: “The Bachelor,” “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” “Big Brother,” “90 Day Fiancé,” “Teen Mom OG”/”Teen Mom 2,” Dunder Mifflin (“The Office” subreddit), “Survivor,” and Bravo’s “Real Housewives” franchise.

The “Freefolk” subreddit might not have bent the knee to GoT , but they still took the Iron Throne.
