'Game of Thrones' Alum Aidan Gillen Used to Shred Scripts to Avoid Spoilers
By Olivia Montine

Former Game of Thrones actor Aidan Gillen has a unique way of avoiding giving away spoilers while filming. However, we will be discussing some of those spoilers in this article, so readers beware.
The man behind Lord Baelish actively ensured that no details from the show got leaked by shredding all of his scripts, a practice he began during his time working on The Wire.

"They had a shredding machine in the office, it was the first time I was ever conscious of that, it was before social media so it wasn't such a big deal," the 50-year-old actor said. "But they were ahead of their time. They were saying, 'when you're finished with these scripts, come into the office and shred them because we don't want people knowing what's going to happen.'"
The actor continued on and added, "So it's always been part of my system. Once you're finished, destroy it. I don't tell members of my family what's happening in scripts or if I'm going to be part of some major plot point, I keep it from everyone."
There won't be any script destruction happening for Gillen in season eight, given that he was stabbed in the throat by Arya Stark in the last season. RIP.
All will be revealed soon enough, however, when season eight premieres on April 14.
