There's plenty of elaborate fan theories out there about Friends, many of them trying to prove that the series is something much more sinister than a happy-go-lucky sitcom about a group of friends in their twenties navigating life in the big city. From a mental institution to a Moby Dick relation, many of the theories take small details and turn them into dark takes on the show. However, one more lighthearted theory connects a one night stand that Rachel Green has to a character on a TV show that didn't come about until a few years later--Parks and Recreation.

In a season seven episode titled "The One with All the Candy," Rachel is defending the idea that she does not sleep with men on the first date. Monica counters this by listing off a few of the one night stands Rachel has had, which includes a familiar name. Monica rattles off Matt Wire, Mark Lynn, and Ben Wyatt--and that's where the theory begins.

Ben Wyatt is Adam Scott's character on the sitcom about life for workers in the Parks and Recreation office of Pawnee, Indiana. According to a thread on Reddit, Wyatt would have been 26 during the time of the episode, while Rachel would have been 29, making the hookup plausible.

This has to be one of our favorite theories out there about Friends, even though it doesn't seem likely that the two were intentionally connected by the producers of the shows.
