Fans Rally to #SaveSwampThing After DC Series is Cancelled
By Shawnie Hamer

DC fans are back at it in another social media campaign, and this time they are really angry.
Fans have been tweeting #SaveSwampThing after the DC Universe announced that Swamp Thing would not be extended past its current first season. Like most genre shows that get cancelled, this news sparked a vivacious campaign to save it, demanding executives to either sign another season, or to move the show to another network.

Swamp Thing fans that subscribed to DC Universe for the show are especially outraged. As ComicBook.com reports, the series was made specifically for the streaming service, which is marketed as a platform for hardcore fans and as a place for "saving" other cancelled DC shows. Fans see DC Universe canceling one of the first shows they announced so abruptly as very hypocritical.

Swamp Thing follows Abby Arcane (played by Crystal Reed) as she investigates what she believes is a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana. She discovers that the swamp holds a magical and terrifying history when horrors begin to unfold around town.
New episodes of Swamp Thing air on Friday mornings on DC Universe…for now.
