Fan-Favorite 'Game of Thrones' Star Pays Tribute To Their Fallen Character [SPOILERS]

This story includes spoilers for 'Game of Thrones' Season 8, Episode 3, "The Long Night."

Game of Thrones' newest episode, "The Long Night," could have turned out way more disastrous than it did, with many of the characters fighting to stay alive through the dark Battle of Winterfell. But we did have to say goodbye to a few fan-favorites. One of those characters, Lyanna Mormont, has gotten a tribute from the actress who played her, Bella Ramsey.

"I had a song in my head during the filming of episode three...Every Giant Will Fall by @rendcollective it basically sums it all up. I'm overwhelmed by the response, thank you so so much," Ramsey began her caption on Instagram, along with a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the set.

“'I will not hide underground. I pledged to fight for the North, and I will fight' RIP Lyanna," Ramsey concluded.

Lyanna was only supposed to have one scene in the series, but after giving a great performance as the little spitfire, she was written into the show as a recurring character. One of her first scenes saw her giving a powerful speech about nominating Jon Snow as the King of the North, and then her one of her last saw her fighting alongside him in the latest episode. She ultimately met her demise, however she went out a brave soldier.

"We knew that you can't give a big death to everybody who dies in this battle because it would've been too much, but also, if she were to die, there was no way to not make a moment of it, so that's where the zombie giant comes in," showrunner D.B. Weiss said of Lyanna's epic death scene.

Weiss also explained that the decision to have Lyanna defeat the wight giant was a great way of showing how little characters could do some damage.

We will truly miss Lyanna in these three remaining episodes of Game of Thrones.
