Does Jon Snow Finally Know His True Parentage in New 'Game of Thrones' Trailer?

So of course fans are going crazy after the first full-length Game of Thrones trailer finally dropped yesterday, and not even 24 hours later, Reddit is getting inundated with a variety of different fan theories. Are we really surprised by this, though? No, in fact it would be weird if fans weren’t doing this.

One of the theories circling the internet right now is regarding what Jon Snow is looking at in a basically two millisecond clip during the trailer. In the scene, Jon seems foreboding, looking at something in a dark corridor, with Daenerys Targaryen then walking up to him like she wants to console him.

Could they have just found out they’re related? Judging by their reactions to one another it looks like a certainly tense scene. Reddit has a theory that the pair are aware they’re related here, and are looking at the statue of Lyanna, who we know is Jon’s mother and Daenerys’ sister-in-law.

The broody look on Jon’s face might be him realizing he is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne, and Daenerys is probably also thinking that she now has an in to claim it.

There’s been a ton of debate on Reddit on the specifics of the scene, however, and where on the wall Lyanna’s statue would be, and where in relation to everything in the corridor in Winterfell it is. From the perspective the scene was shot, fans are still not 100% sure Jon is looking at the statue, but it does seem like a safe bet.

We’ll find out for sure when Game of Thrones returns for its final season on April 14.
