It was speculated that Andy Muschietti would be the director to the highly anticipated new flash movie, but he confirmed those rumors earlier today.

Muschietti was at a panel for his latest project, the reboot of IT, a horror/thriller, when someone asked if he would be using some of the same horror elements in The Flash movie.

Muschietti had this to say in response, “An element if horror? I don’t think so. What captivated me about the Flash is the human drama in it,” he said.  “The human feelings and emotions that play in the drama [of it]. It’s going to be fun, too. I can’t promise that there will be any horror [elements in it], really, but it’s a beautiful human story.”

Not much is known about The Flash movie at this point, only that Ezra Miller is expected to return to the role. Nothing has been released yet about filming dates, or a potential timeline for release.

For now, all fans have to work with is that the film will play off of human emotion and drama.
