Lil Nas X stunned at the 75th anniversary of the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, on Monday night, and fans couldn't help but think that the award-winning artist drew inspiration for his gilded gold suit from a popular New Adult book series, but it that the case?

On Monday 13 September, Lil Nas X wowed red carpet viewers with not one, not two, but three daring and gold looks for the Met Gala 2021, which was honoring this year's gala theme; “American Independence”

After Lil Nas X dropped his billowing cloak, many fans jumped on social media to draw a comparison between the Plated Prisoner book series - by Raven Kennedy - and his gilded gold suit of armor.

In the book series, King Midas is the golden king, with the touch to turn anything to gold, and parades his 'gifts' by armouring his guards and soldiers in gilded gold suit of armours, just like the one worn by Lil Nas X.

One social media user wrote, "Lil Nas X is giving me some serious Gilded Prisoner vibez!", on Instagram in response to the pics of him in the golden suit, another adding in response to the comment, "OMG YES, where is your AUREN?"
