DC's Spinoff 'The Trench' Will Not Feature Jason Momoa's Aquaman
By Hannah Wigandt

While we are wishing away the three-year wait we have to endure to get to Aquaman 2, fans can still explore the underwater world of Atlantis in new horror spin-off The Trench.
Even though Aquaman was the most successful movie in the DCEU, the cast that starred in it will not be swimming on to screens for the spinoff, meaning fans will not see Jason Momoa's Aquaman or Amber Heard's Mera this time around.
Even though director James Wan wouldn't confirm anything, it was producer Peter Safran who confirmed The Trench would likely be released some time before Aquaman 2.
"We always, even from the early concept art days, loved the idea of a Trench movie," Safran told The Hollywood Reporter. "Then, when audiences embraced it in the movie itself the way they did, particularly that ant farm shot where the camera follows the Trench [creatures] following Arthur and Mera down into the deep, we just knew that we had something very special there and we knew what that movie should be. And consequently, I suspect that that's one that will come out significantly before Aquaman 2.”
So far the only thing we know is the title and about the time it will show up in theaters (between now and 2022), but that's about it, so fans are just going to have to sit and wait patiently for more info.
