'Dark Phoenix' Director Simon Kinberg Reveals MCU Characters He'd Want in X-Men Film
By Hannah Wigandt

Amid fans fantasizing about which new superheroes they want to see in the MCU after the Disney/Fox deal, Dark Phoenix director Simon Kinberg has revealed which who he would like to see in an X-Men film. Something tells us that the superhero mutants will probably guest star in the MCU sooner than later, but their own films in the universe doesn't seem likely yet.
Kinberg touched on the subject at CBS All Access' premiere of The Twilight Zone, a series for which he is an executive producer. Variety asked the writer/director which superhero he was "dying to see pop up in an X-Men movie."

"I would say probably either somebody from Wakanda or -- or Iron Man," Kinberg replied. "I mean, I love Downey; I've worked with him. I love what he does with that character. He created the tonal template for the MCU with the first Iron Man movie. So the notion of Iron Man popping up in X-Men, or Iron Man interacting with Deadpool, is pretty exciting."
It looks like Dark Phoenix might be the last X-Men movie to premiere under the Fox banner, with projects like The New Mutants still hanging in the balance.
You can catch Dark Phoenix in theaters June 7.
