Danielle Staub and Marty Caffrey's divorce likely landed them on some "Shortest Celebrity Marriage" lists, splitting up only 10 months after their wedding.

In May 2018, the former Real Housewives of New Jersey star and Marty married in the Bahamas on the beach in a ceremony that was covered by Bravo. Interestingly enough, the publicity not only of their wedding but of their marriage was one of the main reasons Marty felt unhappy in the relationship. In Feb. 2019, their divorce was finalized.

While the list of what went wrong is probably lengthy, Danielle alleged in Dec. 2018 that Marty had been abusive towards her and her daughters, Christine and Jillian. According to US Weekly, Danielle said he "repeatedly mocked and harassed [her] for being sexually abused by [her] father as a child," along with calling her kids "entitled c**ts."

While speaking to People at the time of their divorce settlement, Marty said, "Looking back on our relationship, it is hard to reconcile that the camera and the show were more important to her than her relationship was with me." He added that he was both relieved the marriage was over and also saddened by the loss of his relationship with Danielle.

On the topic of publicity, Marty had some warning advice for other prospective romances, saying, "I would caution any man who contemplates getting involved with a ‘real housewife’ as I think it takes a special kind of person to expose their private lives in this way and not have it not cause problems."

Danielle took her own approach to the end of her marriage and said, "I will overcome everything like I always do. I will always land on my feet. And I’m not changing who I am."

It seems that both parties were trying to remain strong post-split. We hope Danielle was able to heal from the relationship and alleged abuse, in order to move on.
