At first glance, Cursed could be easily compared to popular fantasy shows of the past, including fan-favorite Game of Thrones. Even Katherine Langford has admitted comparisons are easy to make, but the new Netflix show's leading lady is revealing there's more to the storyline than meets viewers' eyes at first, reports Digital Spy. In other words, it's one to keep watching.

Addressing the comparison to GoT and other shows, the 13 Reasons Why alum explained, "I get asked quite a lot by fans and people who love this genre, 'What it's like?' I'm still trying to figure out," adding, "For me, Cursed is really interesting because it's not quite one or the other. It's a mixture of its own elements and it stands by itself in that sense. I definitely think it's a fantastical and historical piece, which is full of action and is a full-on thriller. But it also has quite a grounded quality to it."

The actress predicts that the new series and its well-rounded premise will probably pioneer "its own little genre," while still admitting, "If you like Frank Miller's work or if you like fantasy, or epic shows, it definitely falls within that category."

In a few days, fans will be able to find out if they agree with Langford's first-hand, behind-the-scenes take on Cursed. The series debuts on Netflix on July 17.
