Colin Kaepernick Sends Rihanna Love After She Publicly Boycotts Super Bowl

First, Rihanna turned down to Super Bowl halftime show gig, and then the 30-year-old singer made it known there was no way she was watching the big game on Sunday, and it was all in support of Colin Kaepernick.

On Sunday, Rihanna posted a video to her Instagram Story to troll a football fan who was asking to watch the Super Bowl on her flight.

In her last Instagram Story, she posted a drawing of a kneeling Kaepernick and wrote, “for those of you who thought I was watchin super bowl…we beefin.”

On Monday, Kaepernick took to social media to reciprocate his appreciation for the pop star. The former 49ers quarterback posted a screenshot of RiRi’s Instagram Story, along with a message of love.

Though Rihanna has been one of the more vocal celebrities to oppose the National Football League, others like Common, Lena Waithe, and Ava DuVernay announced they also boycotted the game in order to support Kaepernick. Nick Cannon, who was actually with Kaepernick on Sunday, talked about what they did on Sunday instead of watching the big game.

“Colin Kaepernick is one of my closest friends out here, we was hanging, we didn’t even turn the TV on,” Cannon said on The Wendy Williams Show. “We went and got some Chinese vegan food. You know, a peaceful protest, we didn’t want no beef."
