Catelynn Lowell Tells Followers to 'Calm Down' After Revealing Daughter Nova's New Hair Color

The ladies of the Teen Mom franchise are basically masters at battling criticism on social media for their parenting methods, and Catelynn Lowell is certainly no exception. The 27-year-old Michigan native posted a new photo of her daughter Novalee, who she shares with husband Tyler Baltierra, on Instagram this week, and was quick to add a disclaimer.

Cate shared a cute pic of Nova's new hair, which was curled and included a bright pink streak. Already knowing people would attack her for dying her five-year-old daughter's hair, the MTV personality stated in the caption, "(Calm down y’all it’s not her hair that’s dyed) we added some colored hair."

It seems the clarification worked. Catelynn received many supportive comments, with one writing, "Cute! I love it [heart eyes emoji]," and another adding, "I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS Cate!!!! I would dream of having a pink or purple strand of color in my hair like this as a little girl. Hell, this makes me wanna do it to myself now. LOL."

Cate and Tyler have been parent-shamed plenty of times in the past, for instances such as buying Nova a pony and for leaving her home while Catelynn went out for a day at the spa for her birthday. More recently, however, the reality star has been receiving heat for sharing an excessive amount of clickbait posts, making fans believe she and Tyler are expecting another child. While the couple has expressed interest in getting pregnant again, it doesn't seem it's happening right away.

In any case, we're excited to see Nova's sweet new hair and hope she only receives love and compliments for it!
