Earlier this month, the Kardashian-Jenner siblings received a ton of backlash after no one showed up in Australia to greet Caitlyn Jenner when she dismissed from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! While it is tradition on the game show for the contestants to be met by their loved ones on the bridge, the 70-year-old TV personality was left all alone apart from Sophia Hutchins, creating an uproar with her fans and followers.

Caitlyn’s son, Brandon Jenner, later commented on the backlash, revealing that the show’s network never reached out or planned anything for her final episode. Kim Kardashian retweeted her stepbrother's interview, writing, “Exactly what Brandon said!!!! NO ONE from I’m a Celeb even reached out and asked for letters, appearances, or anything from any Kardashians or Jenners.”

Now the Olympic gold medalist is commenting on the confusion herself, Cosmopolitan reports. Caitlyn spoke with the Daily Mail and confirmed that in no way shape or form was her family rejecting her. She explained:

“My family are very well-known. I never asked any of them to come down or expected them to—they all have businesses and families. I was disappointed they were criticized. After the show was over, I texted or called all the kids to apologize.”

While the relationships between Caitlyn and her (step) children aren’t always sunshine and rainbows, it turns out that this time the fans were the one to stir up the family drama.
