Based on the recent success of musical biopics like Rocketman based on Elton John, and the Freddie Mercury story in Bohemian Rhapsody, a film about Boy George is now in the works, and the singer wants Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner to play him.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, during an interview on the Australian show Fitzy and Wippa, Boy George said of all the casting choices, “one of the most interesting suggestions was Sophie Turner.” When told she can't play him because she's a woman, the Culture Club frontman said, “When I was 17, I would have loved to have been her.”

Turner has had a busy summer, with the end of Game of Thrones, the release of Dark Phoenix and her upcoming second wedding to Joe Jonas after their Las Vegas ceremony. Despite this, however, the actress didn't miss the chance to chime in on the potential part as the pop star. She tweeted: "I'm SO down."

According to Harper's Bazaar, Boy George said he's not worried about how he'll be portrayed in the film, explaining:

"In our game, there is always stuff that is written about you that is so ridiculous. I don't mind it though, it makes me sound more interesting. He sleeps upside down on the roof. He only lives on lentils, that kind of stuff... I think it just makes a great picture."

The biopic, being made by MGM, is as yet untitled and is being written and directed by Sacha Gervasi.
