The country is up in arms after George Floyd, an African American man, was killed during a police arrest after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck for over eight minutes. Protests against police brutality erupted across America starting the next day. While some of the protests have been peaceful, confrontations with police in various cities have led to violence and destruction. There have been instances of police tear gassing protesters and firing rubber bullets into crowds, and protesters even set fire to a police precinct in Minneapolis. Tensions across the country are undoubtedly high as protests continue, but it looks like one superhero decided to make an appearance to keep protesters' spirit's high.

As reported by CBR, someone dressed as Batman was seen at a protest in Philadelphia on Saturday. A video shared on Twitter by @heroichollywood shows the individual emerging from smoke in typical Bruce Wayne fashion. People in the background can be heard screaming and coughing, so it is possible that the cloud was actually tear gas utilized by the police to disperse the crowd. People were clearly happy to see Batman, with various protestors clapping and shouting his name as he passed.

After seeing the clip, someone else decided to add in the score from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight to make it even more authentic. If I didn't know it was from a real protest, I'd think the clip was straight out of the next DC blockbuster. And Twitter users felt the same. One wrote, "This is too cool. Certainly made my day and I thank you for that." In all seriousness, the rally featured in the clip looks pretty intense, and I hope everyone who was present is alright.

On May 29, Chauvin was charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter for Floyd's death, and the other officers present are expected to be charged as well. With any luck, Chauvin will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and George Floyd will receive the justice he is due. To sign the petition seeking justice, head to the Change.org link here
