Armie Hammer Doesn't Feel Bad for Offending People With His Stan Lee Tweets

Armie Hammer threw some shade at all the celebrities who posted selfies of themselves with late Marvel creator Stan Lee at the time of his death, and now says that he won't apologize.

Back in November, Hammer tweeted, “So touched by all of the celebrities posting pictures of themselves with Stan Lee… no better way to commemorate an absolute legend than putting up a picture of yourself," after news broke of Lee’s death at the age of 95.

This sparked outrage amongst fans, who criticized Hammer for his views on how people should mourn and pay tribute. Many of the posts were from actors who had worked with Lee, so they found it justified they should be able to post pictures with him. But Hammer shot back when one pointed that out and said, "Me...too".

Since all the backlash, Hammer has finally commented on the situation.

"Let me be clear. I do not feel badly for the people that I offended who met Stan Lee once and were capitalizing and masking self-promotion as false grief," Hammer said to British GQ.

It seems, despite Hammer being a millennial, he is against his generation's love for selfies, but his reasoning for not liking them is actually pretty funny. “I don’t get it. It doesn’t resonate with me,” he explained. “I don’t know why millennials will go and take a picture of themselves on the dance floor and then post it on social media and be like, ‘Congratulations to Sarah and Jeff, so happy for you guys!’ Just what the hell is that? That just doesn’t make any sense to me.”

At least Hammer knows how to speak his mind and still stands his ground after facing major criticism.
