Ariana Grande's Japanese Tattoo Fail Translates to BBQ Grill

Ariana Grande loves "7 Rings" so much that she got a tattoo of the song title…well, she kind of did. Ari is notorious for spontaneously debuting new ink, which she did on social media on Tuesday.

On the palm of her hands, Ari got a number seven alongside a Japanese symbol, which one can assume was supposed to translate to “rings.” But Ariana’s fans with knowledge of Japanese symbols were quick to point out that her design actually translated to “shichirin,” which is actually small BBQ grill.

The pop star owned up to her mistake on Twitter, but has since deleted the tweets.

On Wednesday night, Ariana wrote, "Indeed, I left out ‘つの指,' which should have gone in between. It hurt like f**k n still looks tight. I wouldn't have lasted one more symbol lmao. But this spot also peels a ton and won't last so if I miss it enough I'll suffer thru the whole thing next time."

In the following tweet, she added, "also….huge fan of tiny bbq grills."

While it seems Ariana is content with the tattoo for now, it wouldn’t be the first time that she altered some ink. Last year, the pop star covered up the “8418” tattoo on her foot. The tattoo, which was a tribute to Pete Davidson’s late father, now reads “Myron," who is the dog of her late ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.

Even though the new tattoo isn't exactly correct, we love the tribute to her new anthem.
