Ariana Grande Responds to Speculation She's Getting Back Together With Ricky Alvarez

Ari told us in Thank U, Next that she’s going to take time to focus on herself, but it turns out fans are quick to challenge that statement. When Ariana commented on ex-boyfriend Ricky Alvarez’s Instagram post on Monday, fans practically started hearing wedding bells.

“These colors are sick,” the pop star wrote on Alvarez’s post. Though the comment was completely innocent, Grande’s fans took notice, and then took over the comments section.

“Ready for Rickiana?” wrote one fan. Another user commented “[What] about you and Ariana???? We all want to know.” Ariana gave the people what they wanted: a solid answer. “We’re friends everyone take a big ol breather,” she replied to the inquisitive users.

Ari recently gave her ex and former backup dancer a shout-out in her new hit. “Wrote some songs about Ricky. Now I listen and laugh,” Ariana sings in Thank U, Next.

It’s been over two years since Ricky and Ari split up in the summer of 2016, but fans had to know if she was staying true to what she says in her new hit single and is “so good” with spending time by herself.

"I look forward to hopefully learning to give some of the love and forgiveness that I have given away so frivolously and easily to men in the past to myself this year," Ariana said last week at Billboard's 2018 Women in Music Awards.

Fans have to remember that the singer has been all about moving on to what’s next, not moving on to an ex.
