'Aquaman' Director James Wan Defends 'Shazam!' Following Lack of New Trailer
By Hannah Wigandt

Fans waiting for the new trailer for DC's upcoming Shazam! are just going to have to wait like the rest of us also waiting for trailers from Star Wars: Episode IX and countless other movies, not to mention TV series Game of Thrones as well. We're all in the same boat across fandoms.
But fans have been especially harsh on Shazam! director David F. Sandberg, after many called him out for not giving them a new trailer, considering DC's film Aquaman had released many by this time in its schedule.
This caused Aquaman director James Wan to step in to defend Sandberg. Taking to Twitter, Wan said that his film got the same reaction from fans regarding the timing of trailer releases, and that when the trailer came out at Comic Con San Diego, fans were upset by it. Not to mention, people were really angry when the release date for the movie was pushed back.
(When the trailers/extended one finally arrived, everyone was like, “Oh, now you’re showing too much...We’ve seen the whole movie.” lol)@ponysmasher Best thing you can do is ignore all the noise and distraction, and focus on your project and do your best. That’s all you can do.

Finally, Wan concluded that you can never really win with fans, because they accuse you of either showing too much or too little in trailers. All you can do is focus on the project.
Shazam! premieres on April 5.
