Angry DC Fans Are Destroying First 'Batwoman' Trailer on YouTube

The CW dropped their first look trailer for the upcoming series Batwoman last week, and what should have been a great step forward for the network's Arrowverse has instead been met with unfair backlash.

People of YouTube are not happy with the trailer for the show, set to premiere this fall, and are apparently accusing it of hating on straight white males. So far the trailer has 3.8 million views, 65,000 likes, a whopping 245,000 dislikes and over 67,000 comments.

The video has received angry comments such as, "And feminism ruins another show that could have been possibly good," "Straight white men bad - the show," and "Men do all the work, woman tries to take credit. That’s the Western World 2019 for you!"

According to ComicBook.com, there are two lines in the trailer that main character Kate Kane, played by Ruby Rose, says that are being interpreted as mocking men. The first is where she says she doesn't want Batman to take credit for her work, and the next is where she wants to make the Batman suit "perfect."

This isn't the first time angry people on the internet have started a frenzy over a female superhero, as Brie Larson received similar remarks regarding her Marvel character Captain Marvel. Her standalone film went on to make $1 billion, despite those who doubted her. While Captain Marvel will lead the MCU forward, Batwoman could also do the same for the CW shows with this upcoming DC series.
