After Amber Portwood's arrest, her ex-fiancé Matt Baier came to her defense and said she had never got violent with him. Earlier this month, Amber was arrested for domestic battery assault of her boyfriend, Andrew Glennon, who is the father of her son, James.

Matt spoke with The Ashley more recently concerning his defense of Amber, beginning with, “Amber’s biggest fear is going back to prison. Her second biggest fear, in my opinion, is having people think she hasn’t changed [since she was in prison]."

Matt then spoke about his experience with Amber's anger: “People want to ask me if Amber is violent. Is she naturally violent? No. But I will say that Amber is very, very tough to bring down once she’s crossed a certain threshold [of anger].”

When asked if Matt had spoken with Amber since her arrest, he said that he did reach out to her, but she didn't respond. He shared:

"Of course I reached out to her. I texted her and wanted her to know I was thinking about her, and that she is strong and this will pass. I didn’t hear back from her and didn’t expect to. I also reached out to her when she had James. You have to remember, we were together for 3.5 years, and we pretty much spent 24/7 together during that time. I would have felt bad if I hadn’t reached out to her. I didn’t expect a response from her and that’s fine."

It looks like Matt is going to keep riding for his ex, even if she doesn't show him gratitude. We respect him for not bad-mouthing her and only wish him the best.
