Amber Portwood is sharing what went down after her dramatic summer, and is opening up about the mental health struggles she's faced since then. The Teen Mom OG star was arrested in July 2019 after a fight in her home with Andrew Glennon turned physical. Allegedly, Amber threatened her then-boyfriend and baby daddy with a machete while he was holding their son, James.

Following the incident, Amber went through a really rough time. She told Us Weekly:

"I got into a really, really dark period for a couple of months. I lost about 35 pounds in less than three months. My hair was falling out. When I say I went into shock, I literally, my body went in shock. I didn't sleep for almost two weeks. I had to get out of that state of mind."

Amber compared the period to other low points in her life, adding, “It was definitely a deep depression that I went through. Through prison and everything I’ve been through, it was one of the worst times of my life, and when you go through something like that, you have to learn from your mistakes."

In a clip from the upcoming season of Teen Mom OG, Amber speaks to ex and baby daddy Gary Shirley about her arrest, clearly full of regret over what went down. "The number one regret that I have is that I did not walk out of that house that night," she recalls in the video below. "Now I look back and I’m so ashamed because all I keep thinking about is, ‘Amber, you should have walked out of the house.'"
