Amber Portwood's Brother Shawn Claims She Did Nothing to Andrew Glennon Beyond 'Throwing a Flip Flop'

Amber Portwood's arrest for domestic battery was almost a year ago now, but of course, that doesn't mean we've all stopped talking about it. The mom-of-two was unfortunately handcuffed last July after a fight with then-boyfriend Andrew Glennon turned physical. In the aftermath, details came out which alleged that the Teen Mom OG star had threatened her boo with a machete, and this was all while their baby was present.

While the accusations surrounding Amber's arrest are no doubt incredibly serious, she has had people sticking by her side to defend her through all of this. For instance, her ex-boyfriend and first baby daddy, Gary Shirley, has been a rock for Amber since the incident occurred. In a lengthy Instagram comment earlier this month, Gary even explained why he's chosen to support his ex, in part stating, "My support doesn’t mean I condone her actions towards Andrew. Domestic violence is NEVER ok. In the end I want to know I did everything I could to help my daughter & James. Supporting their mother HAS to be a part of that."

Apart from Gary, Amber apparently also has her brother Shawn in her corner, who is speaking out on her arrest and even claims some of the allegations made against her are false. As reported by The Ashley, Shawn responded to a Teen Mom fan on Twitter, saying that his sister did nothing to Andrew besides "throwing a flip flop." Um, what?

When a Twitter user suggested Amber make a public apology to Andrew, Shawn replied, "Honestly and I'm sure a lot of people will say I'm victim shaming again but I would not publicly apologize to him for anything. Nothing more than throwing a flip flop at him. Because everybody doesn't know the entire story they know his story."

Considering Amber stars in a reality TV show, we have been getting her side of the story since her arrest. We're not shocked to see Shawn defending his sister like this, but fans are almost all in agreement that his claims must be false.
