All About the Star-Studded Indian Wedding Beyoncé Performed at That Cost Millions
By Jennifer Fabiano

Beyoncé posted pictures to Instagram on Monday dressed in an Indian gown and accessories. Some fans questioned if Queen Bey was playing an elaborate game of dress up, but it turns out that she was actually performing at one of the biggest events of the year in India: the wedding of Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal.
We all know it has to cost a pretty penny, or a pretty Indian paisa, to get Beyoncé to perform a 45-minute private concert, but expense was not a problem for the daughter of one of Asia’s richest men and the son of one of India’s most prominent business families.
The wedding, consisting of at least five events, was reported by Bloomberg to cost $100 million, but a person close to the family has argued against that number, according to the New York Times. Other calculations have put the bill at around $15 million.
Beyoncé's show was only one part of the pre-wedding festivities hosted by the bride’s parents in Udaipur, a northern Indian city known for its palaces.
And Beyoncé wasn’t the only familiar face to make an appearance at the wedding. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also attended pre-wedding activities.
One wedding guest dished that the wedding invitations arrived in Dolce & Gabbana boxes that were adorned in pink and gold lace and chains that could be detached and worn as jewelry. The guest added that the event drew 2,000 attendees.
Events began on Saturday, Dec. 8, and the main event, the wedding ceremony, is on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the bride’s father’s 27-story home in Mumbai. The home includes a six-level parking garage as well as three helipads.
There will also be a ceremony at the groom’s father’s home in Mumbai and a reception held at Jio Garden, an event space built by the bride’s father’s company.
Can we expect a Crazy Rich Indians based on this family to hit movie theaters next year? More importantly, will Beyoncé make an appearance in the film?
