Netflix’s first ever German-language original series, Dark, has been a runaway success with a global audience. The thriller captivated fans through its first two mind-mending, time-binding seasons.  “When we started with the show, obviously we weren’t sure whether we were going to get any audience because it’s just such an unusual narrative,” series co-creator Jantje Friese told IndieWire in 2019. By now, viewers are used to navigating the show’s time travel narrative. But they’ll no longer have to wonder when, exactly, the third and final season will be available to stream.

When Does Dark Season 3 Come Out?

Netflix has announced that the final season of Dark will be available to stream June 27. If you think you’ve heard that date somewhere before, you’re right: June 27, 2020 is the projected date of the apocalypse in the show.

Fortunately, viewers will be treated to something like the opposite of the end of the world: a set of brand-new episodes and a culmination to the riveting Dark story. Right now, it’s unclear exactly how many episodes will comprise Season 3, though we’d guess around 10, since that was the length of Season 2.

The trailer doesn’t give too much away, and neither does the official Season 3 description. “The final cycle is about to begin. Will the loop finally be broken?,” it reads. “Time-twisting madness reaches its conclusion in a strange new world, where some things are quite familiar—and others are disturbingly not.”

In other words, anything could happen. Catch Season 3 of Dark June 27 on Netflix.
